What:  A program designed to assist local non-profit organizations who are struggling during tough economic times to raise public awareness and funds to continue operations. 

Why:  To help local non-profits.  To raise the community awareness of the community involvement of downtown and downtown businesses. To increase business revenues for participating businesses by leveraging the outreach potential of participating non-profits.

When:  The last Tuesday of each month.

Who:  Any participating Downtown Business Alliance member business together with local non-profits chosen partly based on their ability to drive their membership to downtown businesses.

How:  Businesses participate by committing 10% of their revenue on the last Tuesday of each month.  Participating businesses will be identified by posters provided by the DBA to allow patrons to identify which businesses are participating.

Participation is limited to Downtown Business Alliance Member businesses only.

Participating businesses will write a check for their contribution, payable to the Flagstaff DBA, by the 10th day of the month following each “Take Action Tuesday.”

Program costs will be deducted from the total amount collected by the DBA.  The balance will be forwarded to the participating non-profit from the DBA in a timely manner. 

Program costs include only items necessary to make the event successful, such as posters and advertising.  Every effort will be made by the DBA steering committee to hold the program costs as low as possible so that the maximum amount of money possible can be provided to the participating non-profit.

The DBA will endeavor to maximize the marketing side of the Take Action Tuesday donations by creating press releases and taking pictures at the “check ceremony” where one check is given to the participating non-profit.
